This workshop will teach you how and why your business can take action to improve refugee employment in the UK.
Across the world forced displacement of people has reached crisis levels, and responsible businesses are asking how they can respond. In the UK, with job vacancies at a record high, one answer can be found in employment. Refugees face worryingly low employment levels. Only 56% of refugees are in employment (compared to the UK average of 76%) despite the majority having been employed, self-employed or studying before coming to the UK.
By making employment more accessible to refugees, businesses can buck this trend and tap into a diverse and motivated talent pool.
Aims of the event
This workshop will allow you to:
- Understand the basics on employing refugees
- Hear how other businesses support refugees into employment
- Learn the principles of refugee-friendly recruitment using BITC’s employment framework
- Decide how your business can take action to improve refugee employment in the UK

This event is designed to benefit CR Managers/Heads of and HR managers/Heads of.
