Action and Impact 
The tide is turning on our relationship with plastic. This is due partially to an increase in the awareness of consumers who are a radical rethink on the amount of plastic packaging and plastic bags still being used by shoppers on the high street.

In response, the specialist advertising agency In Your Face Advertising (iYFA) launched a campaign to not only give shoppers an alternative to plastic carrier bags but to also support local small businesses in the process.

Triggered by the BITC’s B:Resilient campaign, iYFA’s ecoSHOPPERbox, made from a biodegradable and recyclable material, is a shopping box allowing people to carry anything up to 5lb. And crucially, it is perfect for local SMEs to place their adverts and promos on it. It also combines both online and offline marketing for independent retailers, using QR and augmented reality apps that offer trackable results.

So, iYFA has reached more than 850 SMEs and distributed over 18,000 boxes in West London. “In Your Face Advertising has truly created a model that has helped my business and sparked a movement within the community,” says Nicky Mandal from Arts & Crafts.
