In 2017, Give & Gain Day took place on Friday 12 May, with other volunteering activity taking place throughout the week (8 - 12 May 2017). In Wales, Give & Gain Day 2017 was sponsored by the the Welsh Government and Wales & West Utilities.

Give & Gain Day is the annual celebration of power and potential of employee volunteering and the positive impact it can have in communities, schools and workplaces across Wales. Through volunteering, companies and employees can develop stronger, longer-lasting community relationships, build their own skills and support local community / charity groups in the work they are doing every day.

  • Over 680 employees supported a variety of projects across Wales
  • Teams from 59 businesses and organisations supported 33 community partners plus 97 schools through the rugby tag festival
  • Employee volunteers in Wales gave over 6,000 hours of their time to community projects on Give & Gain Day, the value of which is estimated at £70,000 plus many businesses also donated materials and equipment
